Our client is a leading electrical contractor. We are looking for a seasoned manager to join their executive team and manage the entire PMO office. Candidates must have at least 15 years of related experience in the construction industry and specific leadership experience managing a PMO office. It is a major asset if this person has a strong electrical background, but we will consider leaders with related project management experience from general and mechanical contacting.

Job Description
  • Plans, directs and coordinates the efforts of the PMO office toward the accomplishment of business objectives
  • Provides high-level leadership for the PMO team, managing the selection and use of project management tools, as well as project requirements related to safety and training
  • Supports the different business segments to drive project management processes, championing operational procedures, cost control and budgeting
  • Manages the team to deliver profitable growth
  • Coaches and mentors team members
  • Designs and implements continuous improvement policies
  • Supports project kick-offs, planning and execution
  • Leads and shares resources in the preparation of project proposals, deliverables, schedules, risk assessments and health and safety plans
  • Monitors and evaluates projects using KPIs and other tools
  • Provides expert-level support and guidance on complex/large projects
  • Ensures regulatory and permitting requirements are in place
  • Provides support and information for bids and estimates

  • At least 15 years of related experience in the construction industry leading large teams
  • Director level experience
  • Experience managing a busy PMO office, ideally for a major general, mechanical or electrical contractor
  • Experience leading multi-level teams across a wide array of construction segments including industrial, infrastructure, commercial and multi-family residential
  • Senior project management education and/or experience (such as a Project Management Professional/PMP)
  • Experience in contract administration, contract management and resource scheduling
  • Excellent communication, team building, coaching and motivational skills
  • Solid business acumen
