The client needs to move quickly on this particular one so while they will look at people overseas and these are likely to be Aussies or New Zealanders who are currently located in other countries like USA, Europe and Asia who would be interested in a good opportunity back home. Salary open and flexible for the right person but ideally $300,000 to $400,000.00 - Australian Dollars - Yearly.

Job Description

Our client, an Australian success story, is a specialist FMCG manufacturer, now part of an international group and growing quickly.  They wish to appoint a General Manager, Supply Chain to be responsible for managing Supply Chain & Distribution operations and contribute to their plans for growth within Australia.  This is an exceptional opportunity for a high performing, self-driven, consummate people manager to take the next step into development and management of a centralised Supply Chain & Distribution model to service the company’s requirements and growth.  The role will focus on the integration of a number of Supply Chain channels across several sites into a single, cohesive service in order to leverage efficiencies and costs.  It is anticipated that this will progress into operating as a stand-alone Profit Centre to service the business and other external customers.  Activities will range across:  procurement and import of raw materials, warehousing, transport and distribution.

The role reports directly to the CEO with a place in the senior leadership team.  We are looking for a high performing, natural leader who shares this company’s passion for customer service and supply chain excellence.

The Key Accountabilities of the role:
  • Integration of multiple Australian materials sourcing, procurement, supply chain and distribution functions to enable manufacturing operations to meet customer requirements while maintaining competitiveness
  • Leadership, people development and succession planning within supply chain operations to ensure that the quality, capabilities and depth of staff can support business growth objectives and competiveness
  • Development of a separate, stand-alone business and profit centre
  • Business management of a $multi million operating budget
  • To be successful in this role you will have the following experience and aptitudes:
  • 10 years’ experience in hands-on, complex material purchasing and supply chain management function of a reasonable size, eg in a major site or across multiple smaller sites, with clear career progression
  • Experience of FMCG manufacturing environments such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, therapeutic goods, or similar
  • Entrepreneurial approach with a strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial drivers and reporting requirements of a business
  • Development of metrics to track performance and optimise improvements
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a technology subject and investment in your own further development with post graduate education
  • High energy levels, good communication skills and a natural leader who can demonstrate 100% commitment to the position.
  • A competitive salary package will be commensurate with the ability of the candidate.  This role is based in South West Sydney.
