A specialized global chemical manufacturer seeks a General Manager for their China operations. The US-based organization is 30+ years old, privately held, and a global market leader in the chemical/polymer industry. With manufacturing facilities in the USA, China, Eastern Europe, they operate in more than 40 countries. They have seen consistent steady growth over the years and offer an economic-resistant product sold to various industries like pharmaceutical, power, semiconductor, petrochemical, chemical process, catalyst, food, general manufacturing.  Expats welcome to apply (currently in China or elsewhere) as well as Chinese Nationals! As General Manager, you will take overall management responsibilities for the manufacturing plant, assuring product quality,  plant efficiencies,  safety/environment,  budget responsibility and bringing the organization on par with the other global manufacturing plants. There is an emphasis is on ensuring maximum productivity and efficient operation of the plant on a daily basis. This plant has received multimillion dollar investment  in the last few years and has a solid experienced middle management team.  The GM will be expected to maintain good PR with various government agencies as may be necessary.  This is a top leadership position with cost center responsibilities. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred (or similar / chemistry, biochemistry, etc.)
  • 10+ years in a chemical manufacturing facility required (preferred batch or specialty chemicals)
  • Must have overall plant leadership experience, and be a manufacturing professional with high integrity level, strong leadership and problem-solving skills and the ability to influence and educate subordinates.
  • Must have strong English and Chinese Mandarin communication skills
