Job Description
  • Develop ideas and concepts that are appropriate to be turned into potential future scale-up business models
  • Own the wider portfolio management for all innovation activities in the company, keep full overview and transparency about costs and outcomes
  • Accountable for development, steering and appropriate reporting formats of the wider innovation portfolio
  • Leader for scouting and funneling ideas on potential future business models, inside and outside the current business model (incremental business ideas, evolutionary business ideas, radical / transformational business ideas)
  • Responsible for identifying and setting up preliminary business cases that can be prioritized, including outlook on opex and capex project budget for development and implementation of future valuable business models.
  • Coordinate innovation ideation on a group wide level. Scout and funnel the right topics and ideas, and therewith define the overall innovation portfolio, in close cooperation with the Director of Innovation and the Head of New business models and pilots
  • Constantly review and fill up the pipeline for the right innovation priorities per area / topic for the upcoming 2 to 3 years
  • Interface to other group functions on all management levels (e.g. strategy, sales, energy services, trading, asset management and others) to steer, shape and funnel the innovation agenda.
  • Communicate the innovation ideation and innovation portfolio to the Board and internal / external stakeholders where appropriate
  • Lead around 10 direct hierarchical reports and numerous functional reporting lines depending on innovation agenda and innovation agenda or ideation and portfolio processes

  • Relevant university degree in economics, engineering or science?
  • Minimum of 6 years of proven expertise in business areas or areas that could become core for the company in the upcoming future
  • Leadership experience in startup / innovation environment while knowing DAX / MDax kind of company processes as well
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking combined with the ability to prioritize from a holistic view
  • Demonstrated strategic understanding of energy market trends, customer strategy and requirements
  • Ability to work independently and under high pressure, and motivate others to deliver good results
  • Distinct leadership capabilities with ability to integrate diverse cultures and to cope with fast-changing business environment
  • Strong personal credibility, excellent team-working skills and ability to build strong working relationships across the Group
  • Creative and open-minded individual with ability to think out of the box and inspire others to work outside their known areas
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
