We have a Expat opportunity in Beijing for a client with global manufacturing facilities and is focused on the design, manufacturing and integration of automated assembly equipment. Their end users are non-automotive as well as OEM and Tier 1 suppliers.  Must have industrial automation experience. 

The assignment will start with a 6 month training period in the Detroit area, then would be relocated to Beijing for minimum length of 5 years. When the assignment is completed they would be relocated back to the States in a GM or VP position in the Detroit area.  We are seeking a Sr. Manager, either with Project or Program experience, to provide leadership and vision for our client's 250 employee facility in Beijing. The Sr. Manager will be working directly as a counterpart with the facility's GM, and they will be responsible for the customer and finances for the facility. 

As a member of the Executive Committee, the Senior Manager's  overall responsibilities include business expansion within the framework of the overall strategy. Key areas of control include:
  • Management of all Project and Installation Managers in Europe
  • Direct international customer sales interface
  • Hands-on estimating and proposals
  • Financial reporting
  • Operational oversight for Project Management, Local and Global Manufacturing and Installation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop the relationships with potential international customers to promote regional design and manufacturing capabilities including the creation of sales presentations in an effort to generate new business.
  • Develop the technical proposal and estimates required to support existing and potentially new customers and to generate new business based on RFQ’s received.
  • Project supervise the customer change management, overall planning of engineering, manufacturing and installation to meet customer requirements and to insure maximum utilization of global personnel and facilities.
  • Direct the development of departmental budgets and plans required to ensure effective operation of Engineering, Material and Manufacturing Departments.
  • Support the financial reporting required to the Headquarters on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that all products manufactured meet the customer’s quality requirements.
  • Provide direction and supervision of Operations Department’s activities.
  • Ensure that products are shipped in accordance with schedules prepared by the Project Manager.
  • Provide proper updates to top management on project status, and financial performance of the subsidiary.
  • Conduct weekly international project meetings.
  • Execute the general responsibilities common to all executive and supervisory positions.
