Our client  is a vertically integrated processor of premium quality, fresh pork. Our Company is owned and supplied by a co-operative of over 170 Southern Ontario family farmers.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Achieve and surpass sales targets to grow volume and improve contribution margin
  • Nurture and grow total Retail & Foodservice customer portfolio
  • Primary customer interface/contact with all major and mid-level retail & foodservice customers
  • Develop and execute appropriate annual business plans to ensure organizational growth targets are met or exceeded  
  • Develop, execute and maintain customer interface strategy for top 10 customers in assigned portfolio
  • Prepare and present proposals, recommendations and presentations for internal and external customers
  • Develop, maintain and analyze appropriate business reports utilizing both internal and external data to establish strategic business opportunities to optimize the portfolio  
  • Maintain strong understanding of related market conditions that influence overall profitability and competiveness
  • Maintain strong understanding of customer requirements in order to fine-tune short and long term sales strategies
  • Monitor daily volume and inventories versus forecast and assist in the facilitation and disposition of surplus raw material
  • Maintain appropriate level of contact with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, relationship and engagement
  • Establish short and long term pricing strategies in conjunction with daily/weekly price negotiations with key customer decision makers
  • May be required to represent our clients  trade shows and industry meetings
  • Manage expenses within approved budget parameters

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years' sales experience
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Experience working in the fresh protein/disassembly industry preferred
  • Sales experience with large retail account; success with major Canadian Retailers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
  • Willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of principals and methods for showing, promoting and selling of products
  • External Focus Knowledge of principals and processes for providing customer service including customer needs assessments, meeting quality standards and providing customer satisfaction ratings
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects at the same time with limited supervision; excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Possess strong mathematical, verbal and written communication skills
