Working within the overall Packaging Team in APMEA and the global organizations, provide analytical and operational support across all packaging product categories within Taiwan.  Work with the vendor base to ensure delivery of an uninterrupted supply of products & services to the customers. These packaging products will meet the customers’ global and local standards and expectations for quality & brand compliance, along with all local, regional & global legislations. Salary USD $50,000 - $55000.

Acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the day-to-day operations, this position will have a singular focus on meeting the needs of the Taiwan market, both for today & in anticipation of the planned growth and provide account management support to all departments within Taiwan that are impacted by the use of packaging. This includes, but is not limited to, Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations, Finance, & Menu Management. Under the guidance of the Director, this position will also find ways to apply global, zone & other market intelligence to benefit the Taiwan market & vice versa.

Job Description
1.  Account Management:
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Taiwan markets’ overall and specific packaging requirements in order to align the company’s packaging services which result in maximizing added value to the customer.
  • Proactively establish mutually beneficial relationships with key stake-holders in the customers’ organization which include Supply Chain; Operations; Marketing, agencies and Licensees.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the packaging industry within Taiwan and in the APMEA zone, and utilize this knowledge to educate and guide our customers and ultimately improve the competitive edge.
  • Manage promotion campaigns from packaging perspective for customer including providing timeline, communicating with internal team, customer marketing, supply chain, DC, graphic agency and suppliers for graphic management and approval, sampling validation and assuring supply.
  • Assume responsibility for specific projects within Taiwan to include product standardization with other APMEA markets, yielding a higher point of leverage.
  • Ensure that the appropriate stakeholders within the customer’s organization are fully briefed and aware of new and ongoing projects.
  • Lead and prepare the quarterly Business Reviews Meeting with key stake-holders with the customer’s organization.
  • Perform SPE evaluations with Supply Chain leader to assure customers’ requirements are all met with high satisfactions reflected in SQI evaluation.
  • Provide feedback on the market strategies and issues impacting the business, e.g., promotional calendars, major trading issues, economic & political changes within Taiwan & between Taiwan and other countries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for review by the senior management and regional business units’ leaders on Taiwan achievement and development.
2.  Product Management:
  • Manage day-to-day operational supplier relationships in the product categories to ensure fair access based on objective review of capabilities and pricing.
  • Assist in the identification, evaluation and development of strategic sources of supply.
  • Work with Taiwan Quality System & Compliance to ensure adherence to quality control procedures with new and existing system suppliers
  • Manage Phase-in/Phase-outs of products and suppliers as needed
  • Be sensible to raw material pricing provided by sourcing team in order to maximize/minimize the resultant impact to the finished products.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure successful project management for new items; product and graphics changes, both local and global-oriented.
  • Participate in working sessions relating to promotions to provide packaging leadership and ensure smooth execution of the program from packaging perspective.
  • Ensure the application of global standardization of packaging materials based on “fitness for purpose” so as to raise standards of quality, drive down costs through economies of scale and improve service levels through increased flexibility of sourcing.
  • Ensure all suppliers complete prescribed paperwork including Confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensure all suppliers understand and comply with McDonald’s philosophy of social accountability.

  • 7 years + experience in either of the following: Supply Chain (Procurement Oriented) or Sales and Marketing (Account Management) in the food or packaging industry.
  • Fluency in written and speaking English and Chinese.  Can communicate effectively in Mandarin.
  • Exposure to Chinese market dynamics, etiquette and political affinity
  • Project Management expertise with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven aptitude with MS Office product

  • Manufacturing, technical and industry knowledge of packaging
  • Purchasing experience gained in a major global company
  • Experience of working with American companies in Taiwan environment.
