Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Monitor all inventory transactions in the general ledger and performing month-end entries
  • Assist in organizing physical inventory counts, overseeing the process and ensure it is done efficiently and accurately
  • Assist in developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances
  • Improve inventory internal controls
  • Validate and explain the cost of goods sold as part of the month end close
  • Analyze and calculate provision of obsolete inventory
  • Reconcile all Intercompany balances
  • Reconcile inventory balances (GL to subledger)
  • Continuous support of budget and forecast activities
  • Prepare documents for the interim and year-end audit procedures
  • Review and Update Financial Processes for small subsidiary business to ensure correct calculation of Gross Margin by Product type
  • Compile and analyze financial information for the financial statements of subsidiary on a monthly basis
  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly and year end close processes of the Subsidiary following proper accounting procedures and policies
  • Required Skills, Knowledge & Attributes in Action:
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • Able to tear down broken financial processes and rebuild new, highly controlled simplified processes
  • Strong command of the English and French language
  • Able to travel to Eastern Canada periodically
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Required Experience and Education:
  • CPA accounting designation with minimum 5 years progressive experience
  • University Degree in Business or Accounting
  • Knowledge and experience with Financial ERP systems
