Our client is a world leader in aviation leasing.   They have an opportunity for a Senior IT Security Engineer to oversee the design and maintenance of their information technology security framework and networking infrastructure.   The position will provide project management, technology design and deployment as well as team coordination for all security related implementations. Ideally looking for someone in Western Canada

·  Deploy, manage and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software
·  Represent the IT Security Team and liaising with business owners, stakeholders, engineering teams on new business system requirements
·  Provide risk assessment and analysis where required and lead/participate in any discussions relating to enhancing existing security processes, policies and standards
·  Develop, implement, and oversee network infrastructure and systems interconnectivity
·  Train and mentor new team and project members in existing and new technologies and processes
·  Implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications
·  Work with internal and external audit teams for testing, compliance and remediation requirements
·  Manage connection security for local area networks, the company Web site, the company intranet, and e-mail communications
·  Manage and ensure the security of databases and data transferred both internally and externally
·  Regularly monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution
·  Recommend, schedule, and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach
·  Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts
·  Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to obtain protection services and products
·  Test new security software and/or technologies
·  Recommend, schedule, and perform security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases
·  Provide on-call tier 3 security support for production infrastructure
·  Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access
·  Promote and oversee strategic security relationships between internal resources and external entities, including regulatory bodies, vendors, and partner organizations
·  International travel may be required
Qualifications & Experience:

·  Combination of education, with preference for a university degree in Computer Science or Management Information
·  Systems, and a minimum of five years relevant management experience
·  Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and available security technologies
·  Certification relating to the field of information security and networking such as CISSP, CCSA, CCSE, CCNA
·  CCNP or CCIE is considered an asset
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills
·  Ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly language
·  Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Working Conditions:

·  Works in a typical office setting, with extensive use of a computer requiring clarity of vision and constant visual focus
·  International travel will be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
