Urban Designer/Senior Urban Designer - Design based studio are looking to appoint a passionate Urban Designer to join their dynamic team environment. Candidates should hold qualifications in Urban Design and have gained enough experience (ideally within a practice environment) to be able to either significantly contribute to the success of a project by acting as a competent resource for a senior urban designer/principal; or to be more experienced and be able to lead the design process and day-day project management of key projects within the office. Salary $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 - Australian Dollars - Yearly.  Willing to relocate worldwide

In addition to the technical experience and qualifications we are also looking for:
  • 60% of the role is an enthusiasm for designing great places, wanting to be proud of the places you’re involved in creating and passionate about innovation and bespoke designs for all your projects.
  • 30% Communication skills – Strong communication skills in order to help inform developers as to the importance of good design, to engage and work collaboratively with the best experts you can to solve problems, and to be able to contribute and listen to fellow team members in an inclusive studio environment where everyone’s opinion is valued.
  • 10% Technical skills – An ability to convey your ideas in visual format through hand drawn skills as well as being familiar and competent with the relevant computer packages such as the Adobe suite and CAD.

Job Description

Lead (either from a pure design or project capacity) the master planning of large scale residential developments (mainly greenfield, but with an ethos of wanting to develop within the brownfield/infill market),  
Typically dealing with the larger, more entlightened developers who will market their developments via sense of place/community.
Needs someone with good Urban Design skills who is passionate (and can communicate) about Urban Design and its place in the development cycle.  
Computer skills (AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Indesign) as well as ideally having hand drawing skills.


Ideally a Masters in Urban Design, or a design based degree (Architecture, Planning or Landscape Architecture).
