POSITION SUMMARY:

 

To access the quality of weld fabrications with regards to: weld location, weld size, freedom from discontinuations such as lack of fusion, porosity, overlap, poor profile, undercut, conformance to drawing requirements, etc. When qualified, performance of non-destructive tests {mag particle, liquid penetrant or ultrasonic}. Level of Inspector I thru IV to be determined per the NDT skills matrix.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Check parts to print dimensions.

2. Blueprint Reading

3. 1st piece inspection-okay to run.

4. Check if travelers are filled out completely/correctly.

5. Check travelers-ensure inspection reports are filled out.

6. Ensure all reports are in job traveler folder {COC, Insp. Reports Traveler}.

7. Complete non-conformance reports.

8. Assure part traceability and identification.

9. Welding knowledge required.

10. Must be able to identify weld symbols on prints.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

12. Maintain clean, orderly and safe work area at all times.

13. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with regulations.

2. Must be able to use calipers, micrometers, etc.

3. Microsoft Office

4. GD&T

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Shop/Quality

**While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

High School Diploma or equivalent along with Level II VT, MT, UT and PT certification.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

Prior quality inspection experience-preferred

QC and or Welding Background
